You have been assigned a 15 year-old male patient who has been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

You need to research how tuberculosis affects the human body to be able to answer the following questions:

• What is tuberculosis?
• What are some possible causes for tuberculosis?
• Is tuberculosis contagious?
• What are the organs/body parts that are most affected by tuberculosis and how does tuberculosis affect each of them?
• Overall, how does tuberculosis affect the human body?
• How is tuberculosis treated or cured?

You need to complete a works cited guide listing the sources (books, Web sites, encyclopedias...) you used to find your information. You should also list any sources you obtained pictures or graphics from. This sheet needs to be turned in at the BEGINNING of Day 3.

Homework due before Rotation B:
Prepare a brief (up to 3 minutes) public service announcement to explain why there should be more funding for tuberculosis research, treatment and education. Your announcement should contain all the answers to the above questions. Make a prop/poster that will help you present your findings to the public.
