Rotation A: Patient Research

You have been assigned a 12 year-old male patient who has been diagnosed with rabies.

You need to research how rabies affects the human body to be able to answer the following questions:

• How does someone get rabies?
• How does rabies affect the brain?
• How does rabies affect the nerves?
• How is rabies treated or cured?

You need to complete a works cited guide listing the sources (books, Web sites, encyclopedias...) you used to find your information. You should also list any sources you obtained pictures or graphics from. This sheet needs to be turned in at the BEGINNING of Day 3.

Homework due before Rotation B:
Prepare a brief (up to 3 minutes) public service announcement to explain why there should be more funding for rabies research, treatment and education. Your announcement should contain all the answers to the above questions. Make a prop/poster that will help you present your findings to the public.
