Rotation A: Patient Research

Staff Number 11 -
You have been assigned a 1 year old male patient who has been diagnosed with hemophilia.

You need to research how hemophilia affects the human body to be able to answer the following questions:

  • What is hemophilia and how does one get this disease/disorder?
  • How does hemophilia affect the human body?
  • Is hemophilia contagious?
  • How can hemophilia be treated?
  • Is there a possible way to cure hemophilia now or in the near future? If so, how?

Web Resources (Links)

You need to complete a works cited guide listing the sources (books, Web sites, encyclopedias...) you used to find your information. You should also list any sources you obtained pictures or graphics from. This sheet needs to be turned in at the BEGINNING of Day 3.

Homework due before Rotation B:
Prepare a brief (up to 3 minutes) public service announcement to explain why there should be more funding for hemophilia research, treatment and education. Your announcement should contain all the answers to the above questions. Make a prop/poster that will help you present your findings to the public.
