You have been assigned a 41 year-old female patient who is a heavy cigarette smoker.

You need to research how smoking cigarettes affects the human body to be able to answer the following questions:

• How does cigarette smoking affect the mouth and its parts?
• How does cigarette smoking affect the larynx and pharynx?
• How does cigarette smoking affect the lungs?
• Overall, what does cigarette smoking do to the respiratory system?

You need to complete a works cited guide listing the sources (books, Web sites, encyclopedias...) you used to find your information. You should also list any sources you obtained pictures or graphics from. This sheet needs to be turned in at the BEGINNING of Day 3.

Homework due before Rotation B:
Prepare a brief (up to 3 minutes) public service announcement to express your concerns about why people need to be educated about the dangers of cigarette smoking. Your announcement should contain all the answers to the above questions. Make a prop/poster that will help you present your findings to the public.
