You have been assigned a 78 year-old male patient who is a cigar smoker.

You need to research how cigar smoking affects the human body to be able to answer the following questions:

• How are cigars different than cigarettes?
• How does cigar smoking affect the mouth and its parts?
• How does cigar smoking affect the pharynx and larynx?
• Overall, what does cigar smoking do to the respiratory system?
• What are some other body parts besides the respiratory system that are affected by cigar smoking?

You need to complete a works cited guide listing the sources (books, Web sites, encyclopedias...) you used to find your information. You should also list any sources you obtained pictures or graphics from. This sheet needs to be turned in at the BEGINNING of Day 3.

Homework due before Rotation B:
Prepare a brief (up to 3 minutes) public service announcement to express your concerns about why people need to be educated about the dangers of cigar smoking. Your announcement should contain all the answers to the above questions. Make a prop/poster that will help you present your findings to the public.
